Week 1
For my 20 time project I will be working with Riley and Zach and we will be attempting to successfully learn how to long board. To reach our goal of successfully learning how to long board we will be researching the different board types that they make and what the differences are between the boards. We Weill be reasearching simple things like foot positioning and other beginner tips on learning how to long board. The three of us have no prior experience in long boarding or skateboarding so we our coming into this as first time boarders. To record our progress we will be video taping ourselves each time we try on a go pro and make it into a video at the end which will allow the class/audience to see our progress over time. Obviously the end goal for our 20 time project is to learn a new skill although, it may not be an extremely important or necassery life skill it shows that you can accomplish anything if you work at it.

Self Portrait
Self Portrait
He was brought into this world by two people who just could not quite find a way to make things work. From a young age he had noticed that life was not normal for him compared to his peers; he was often confused and questioning what was going on. He always gives off happy and humorous vibes to the people surrounding him but he knows thats just a cover up. When he is alone things are much deeper and not as warm. He often finds himself covering up his emotions with smiles and jokes. He enjoys being around others and interacting with his friends to be happy but at the same time he also likes to just be alone and think at times.
I chose to draw an image of
myself smiling because it gives the person viewing the image a good
representation of how I look throughout the day. I chose to draw to express my
goofy personality I have when around others, I am not a good drawer so it
really shows my goofy side. I am often smiling and appearing as if I’m happy
and having a good time so nobody would ever assume that I am an unhappy individual.
I chose to use color in my self-portrait because it brings out the image to the
viewers, also I used happy colors representing my outside appearance to the
world and the people around me. The happy colors meant to give off positive and
happy vibes.
The bottom half of the image I shaded grey to express my inside emotions
and how I really feel, it is meant to give off dull and kind of depressing
vibes to leave the viewer questioning why I chose to do so. In the story I
wrote to go along with my image, I explained my childhood and the negative
things I have gone through to show why I might not be the happiest individual
on the inside. I did not write this to gain sympathy from anyone because I do
not want any. I wrote it to simply connect with the reader/viewer on a personal
level and also just be open and honest about myself.
I feel like my image and paper went together
very well because the image expressed my overall appearance to the public and
how I come off to everyone viewing me. The story I wrote to go along with it
described the meaning of the picture and color choice I used and really just
summed up my overall emotions. I feel like I did a good job at expressing my
emotions this way because I feel like a lot of people whether they want to
admit it or not can connect on a very personal level with what I wrote. I feel
like this is a very common thing for people to do. People often find themselves
being insecure on the inside but not wanting to show weakness to their peers
surrounding them. Also, a lot of people are fine when they are with other
people having a good time and not having doubts; but once they are alone they
find their minds pondering and constantly overthinking things and it can get to
be too much. You never know what is going on in someone’s life so don’t judge
them on how they appear cause odds are things are completely opposite.
